1. Who this is for

Sequen (“we”, “us”) is a construction management platform at sequen.in. This page explains what we do with personal information when you visit our website, join our waitlist or register, and use Sequen once you have a workspace.

Sequen is in early access: some people are on a waitlist and have not been given access to the product yet. If that is you, the sections about the waitlist are the ones that matter now.

2. What we collect

When you register or join the waitlist:

  • Your name, email address and mobile number.
  • If you sign up with email, a password. We never see it in readable form: our sign-in provider stores it scrambled (hashed).
  • If you sign in with Google, the name and email address Google shares with us.
  • Your company name, the kind of business you are in, your GSTIN (optional), how many sites you run, and the state and city you are based in. Contractors, subcontractors and suppliers also say which states or cities they work in.
  • What you would like Sequen to help with (the options you tick and anything you write), and the plan you were interested in.
  • Which page or link you came from, and the results of our automatic checks on your registration (see below).

When you use Sequen with a workspace: the information your company puts in: projects, tasks, schedules, photos, documents, reports, attendance (including your location when you check in at a site, if you allow it), expenses, messages and so on. That information belongs to your company, and we handle it for your company so it can run its work.

When you visit our website: the pages you open, the type of device and browser you use, and roughly where you are (for example, the city), collected by our hosting and measurement tools described below.

When we email you: a record that we sent it, and whether you unsubscribed.

3. Why we use it

  • To create your account or waitlist place, and to check that registrations come from real construction businesses.
  • To decide who we let in, and to write to you about your registration, early access and Sequen.
  • To understand what the people we serve need, so we build the right things.
  • To run, secure and improve the website and the product, and to prevent abuse (for example, a bot challenge on the sign-up form).
  • To measure whether our advertising works (see “Cookies and measurement”).
  • To meet our legal duties and answer questions from you.

4. Automatic checks, and the AI background check

When you register, our system runs automatic checks: whether the email address looks real and can receive mail, whether it is a throwaway address, whether the GSTIN is in a valid format and its state matches, and whether the mobile number is a valid Indian number.

For some registrations we also use an AI service (Google’s Gemini) to read publicly available information about your business, for example its website and public web pages, and write a short note for our team. To do this we give the service your company name, business type, location, GSTIN, number of sites, the company website (taken from a company email address, if you used one) and your name (only so it can recognise the right company). We do not send it your email address or phone number. The note is advice for our team: it does not decide on its own whether you can join, and it can hold back our follow-up emails until a person has looked.

If you think a check got something wrong about you or your company, write to us and we will look at it.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We use these services to run Sequen, and they handle information only for that purpose:

  • Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage.
  • Vercel: hosting for the website and app, and privacy-friendly traffic and speed statistics.
  • Resend: sending our emails.
  • Google: Google sign-in, the Gemini AI service described above, and the Google tag used to measure our advertising.
  • Cloudflare: a bot check on the sign-up form.
  • Roboflow: for workspaces that use it, analysis of site photos (for example, safety equipment checks).

Inside Sequen, people at one company cannot see another company’s projects. Where a company chooses to publish a profile or take part in tenders, what it shares is visible to the people it is shared with. We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect people and our service from fraud or harm.

6. Cookies and measurement

  • Needed to work: a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, and small settings kept in your browser (for example, your light or dark choice).
  • Traffic statistics: Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights count visits and page speed without tracking you across other sites.
  • Advertising measurement:on our public pages (home page, sign-in and sign-up) we use the Google tag. It lets Google Ads tell us when a visit from an advertisement led to someone sending the registration form. It may set cookies and share your visit with Google. It is not used inside the signed-in product. You can block it with your browser settings, and manage Google’s advertising choices at adssettings.google.com.

7. Where it is kept, and for how long

Our database and servers are in Singapore, so your information is handled outside India. Some of the services above (for example Google) also process information in other locations.

We keep your registration details while you are on the waitlist or have an account, and we delete or anonymise them when you ask us to, unless the law requires us to keep something. A company’s workspace information is kept for as long as the company uses Sequen, and is removed when the company asks.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
  • correct information that is wrong or out of date;
  • delete your information, or withdraw a consent you gave us;
  • deal with a complaint about how your information was handled, and name someone to act for you if you cannot.

Write to contact@sequen.infrom the email address you registered with, with “Privacy” in the subject, and tell us what you would like. We will reply as quickly as we can. You can stop our emails at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email; that does not delete your account. If we have not resolved a complaint, you may also take it to the Data Protection Board of India once it is operating, as provided in the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

9. Keeping it safe

Each company’s information is kept apart from every other company’s by rules in our database, passwords are stored hashed, and access to registrations is limited to our team. No online service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and tell us straight away if you think your account has been misused.

10. Children

Sequen is for people who work in construction and is not meant for anyone under 18. If you believe a child has registered, write to us and we will remove the account.

11. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use what you have already given us, we will tell registered people by email.

12. Contact
